  3. Should you experience any malfunctions with your CD-ROM, such as:
  4.  
  5. • A drop in sound
  6. • Slow speed
  7. • or the CD-ROM does not launch
  8.  
  9. Please check the following:
  10.  
  11. 1) Click on the apple, and scroll down to control panels - select memory.
  12.  
  13.                 • Cache Size should be increased to a minimum of 1024K
  14.                 • Modern Memory Manager: Turn Off
  15.                 • Virtual Memory: Turn Off
  16.  
  17. 2) Close the memory and restart the computer. Before doing this, disable virtual memory or RAM doubler if you have either one of these.

  19. 3) Close all other applications, because there may not be enough memory on your computer.
  20.  
  21. If the problem is not resolved, then the system may be fragmented and needs to be optimized.

  23. If you have a problem with the sound skipping, replace your QuickTime version 2.5 with version 2.0, which is provided on our training CD-ROM. To do this, open your System folder on your hard drive and drag our QuickTime version 2.0 from the CD-ROM and place it in the Extensions folder in your System folder. The reason for using QuickTime version 2.0 instead of 2.5, may be the result of a slower speed CD-ROM drive than our recommended minimum of 4x.
